Spring Break

Posted by Jessica on March 7, 2010 at 9:08 am in Ramblings, life

Hello!

This week is my Spring Break and I’m back home. I’m over my sick and I feel a lot better. :)

It’s so refreshing to be back home, it’s been over a month since I’ve been here because of work and the like. I’ve just been so busy lately, it’s crazy.

Anyway, so today I saw Alice in Wonderland. I thought that it was interesting. :)

Oh yes! I finally realized that one of my favorite things to do is to support local artists whenever I find one that I really like and today I have found a woman by the name of Jamie Liana. She is an amazing New Aged artist centered in Nashville, TN. Clicking her names leads you to her Myspace page where you can listen to her music. She is also available on iTunes and Amazon.com.

I had another local artist that I had learned about in Knoxville, but I’m not sure how to link to them. :( It appears that they’ve either disbanded or who knows what. This is is the only let down about local artists is when they fade into oblivion and you can’t find them anymore.

Anyway, that’s all for now. :)

Done with Exams! Yay, Winter Break!

Posted by Jessica on December 10, 2009 at 6:08 am in Ramblings, School, life

So! I’m done with exams for the moment and I’m at home for a month for my Winter break. Whew! I’m glad to be done with it!

My plans for December:
1. Casino trip with the ‘rents starting Sunday. I’ll take lotsa pictures!
2. Start my smutty short story that I’ve been wanting to write! (Idea in mind! Already starting!)
3. Help my sister get back into college or help her with other options.
4. Sign up a friend for Standardized Testing for College.
5. Enjoy Christmas and New Years with the family.
6. Read at least 2 of the 6+ I brought home with me.
7. Get a haircut!
8. Try to get to Chattanooga to visit Jessica and Alana between Christmas and New Year’s
9. >.> Make sure not to over indulge.
10. Find awesome cheap prices for my school books for next semester.

And that’s all I can think of for the moment, lol! It feels like a lot to do in a month, but I’m sure that I’ll laze about for most of the month before I finally get around to some of the stuff.

Oh! For those interested, I have added the revised versions (AKA, the versions that I turned in for my Final grade) of The Price of Company and Detachment. The previous versions are down for now. These are, in my opinion, more complete versions of the stories.

I have also been obsessed with OneRepublic’s new CD, Waking Up. I feel like the more I listen to it, the more I fall in love with it. It is a beautiful CD. I’m not sure if I like it better than their first one yet, but I am totally NOT disappointed by the CD at all… Unlike how I was with Panic! At the Disco’s newest CD. If you get a chance, please listen to the CD!

That’s all for this specific update!

@ Daniella: Would you be interested in doing Chattanooga with me? And let me know if/when you come to Nashville!

Do you have a to-do list?
Who is your favorite musical performer at the moment?

Happy Birthday Me!

Posted by Jessica on November 29, 2009 at 11:40 pm in life

Hello! Today I turned twenty-one today! Yay!

But! Before I get into how excited I am to be one year older and one year wiser, I have to tell you about yesterday!

So! Yesterday my parents decided to celebrate my birthday since I had to come back to campus today. They got my a cake, a little portable laptop (which I failed to take a picture of, but it look similar to this one), and a hundred dollars!

Here is what my cake looked like before my family dug in:

It was so delicious! Now it looks nothing like this, lol. I brought the rest of it with me back to campus so I can share it with my friends on my actual birthday. :)

We also put up the Christmas Tree and decorated the house yesterday. The tree was a bit of a problem since part of the stand was missing. We ended up having to rig it up for the moment. Look like we’ll have to get a new tree next year, but this one is fine for now.

These were the only pictures I took sadly, but you can look at the tree and see that it’s leaning a bit… and the angel on the top is bumping her head on the roof. Poor thing.

Oh yeah! And if you were curious, here is a picture of the damage done to my car:

See? The mirror was taken clean off! >=U

Anyway, today I got back to campus and decided that I really wanted to buy my first legal drink, so I went with a friend to Applebee’s. I was supposed to go out with Daniella, but she’s feeling under the weather, so we’re doing something tomorrow!

Anyway, my friend Hannah and I went to Applebee’s and I bought a Pomegranate Martini! I almost forgot to take a picture of it!

Almost gone, but I did take a picture of it! If you look closely, you can see the hundred dollar bill my dad gave me for my birthday.

It was a really good break! I was really busy due to Thanksgiving, but other than that, it was awesome! I’m so ready for Christmas break!

I also finished the book I was reading and started the next one, Narcissus in Chains

If you put up a tree, when does it go up?
How old will you be on your next birthday? Good or Bad Thing?
If you’re old enough to drink or do imbibe from time to time, what’s your favorite drink?

Edward Stared Down at Me from the Roof

Posted by Jessica on November 21, 2009 at 9:10 pm in School, life

So! It’s been a few days and a lot of interesting things have happened lately!

Last weekend, I went to the bathroom at around 1:30 am. I was about to settle down for the night. I entered the stall and saw this:

What would you think if you saw that? Personally, the thoughts that went through my mind were “Pfft, there isn’t anything up there.”

…I was wrong. I looked up and this is what I saw taped to the roof:

….I won’t lie, it scared the crap out of me. I jumped and ran out of the stall. I went to my friends’ rooms and told them. I amassed a group of people for a return expedition to the bathroom. And upon closer investigation, it wasn’t just my stall that had Edward’s intense gaze staring down at them, every stall at the same thing and so did the elevators.

It was very interesting, lol! I got a good scare and a really good laugh out of it.

Not much else has been going on in my life lately. I did a video for some energy conservation site that I will link to as soon as get the word back that it’s been put up.

I also got the swine flu vaccine. My campus was giving them out for free, so I figured ‘Why not?’.

I’ve been fighting the fight against getting sick as well. It seems that everyone around me is getting sick and I really don’t want to be ill around my birthday and before finals. ;-;

This weekend is devoted to finishing my history paper. It’s coming along nicely. It has to be 4-6 pages, and I have two at the moment. I’ll finish it today sometime..

During my free time this week, I’ve gone back to reading the Anita Blake series. I’ve gotten Daniella into reading it as well. She just started the first book (Guilty Pleasures) and I’m currently reading Obsidian Butterfly, the ninth book. I have a love/hate relationship with these books. I love them and miss them when I’m not reading them, but the main character is so hard-headed and gets herself into so many situations because of it. *sigh*

Oh! Last night with a few friends, I started a Hetalia RPG. For those who don’t know what Hetalia here, a basic overview can be seen here. If anyone is interested in joining, the site Livejournal site is here. I play France and Northern Italy. It’s great fun!

Until next time!

Post-Halloween

Posted by Jessica on November 1, 2009 at 10:56 pm in life

So! It’s been a while since my last post, so I have quite a few things to update you all on!

10/29/2009:

I went with my friend to see the stage production of Little Shop of Horrors. I’ve been a long time fan of the franchise. I grew up watching the old movie with Rick Moranis, Ellen Green, and Steve Martin. I know every song by heart and can quote the movie along with it, so how could I miss out on seeing it on stage? I couldn’t!

Above is a picture of the stage. I couldn’t take pictures during the actual performance, but I did manage to take a picture before it started! It was such a good show~! I’m so glad I went!

10/30/2009

Friday was my sister’s birthday. I went back home to Nashville to see her and everything. After we had cake, we went to a haunted house called The Haunted Prison. Back when it first came around, it was actually in an old penitentiary. It’s now in an old warehouse just outside of Nashville.

It was pretty fun. It was raining, so my family and I had to wait outside in the rain, but it was better once we got inside. It wasn’t boring like it had been the year before either. The scariest part was when I had gotten chased down a hallway by a man with a chainsaw. I know he wasn’t going to hurt me, but he still had a chainsaw. I’m going to run, lol.

10/31/2009

On Halloween, I went and had dinner with my parents before my aunt, my sister, and our friend Megan all decided to go to another haunted house. Luckily, it wasn’t raining again, just muddy. We went to a kind of ‘haunted trail’ sort of thing called Monster Mountain. Click here to see the video that played while we were in line.

This one was pretty awesome. We were running around the woods in the boonies of Nashville. We got plenty of muddy and had a few scares. I liked it especially because I was screaming and laughing throughout the entire thing! :)

11/1/2009

Not much happened today, lol. I drove back to Knoxville and listened to my iPod. I have to finish my Classics paper. I’m watching the movie version of Little Shop of Horrors and IMing friends. :) It’s a good day.

Thanks for reading!
