Spring Break

Posted by Jessica on March 7, 2010 at 9:08 am in Ramblings, life

Hello!

This week is my Spring Break and I’m back home. I’m over my sick and I feel a lot better. :)

It’s so refreshing to be back home, it’s been over a month since I’ve been here because of work and the like. I’ve just been so busy lately, it’s crazy.

Anyway, so today I saw Alice in Wonderland. I thought that it was interesting. :)

Oh yes! I finally realized that one of my favorite things to do is to support local artists whenever I find one that I really like and today I have found a woman by the name of Jamie Liana. She is an amazing New Aged artist centered in Nashville, TN. Clicking her names leads you to her Myspace page where you can listen to her music. She is also available on iTunes and Amazon.com.

I had another local artist that I had learned about in Knoxville, but I’m not sure how to link to them. :( It appears that they’ve either disbanded or who knows what. This is is the only let down about local artists is when they fade into oblivion and you can’t find them anymore.

Anyway, that’s all for now. :)

Hair Cut & First Post of the Year!

Posted by Jessica on January 2, 2010 at 4:12 am in Ramblings

The first two are super grainy because I took them with my phone camera and the second two are better because I managed to get my hand on my friend’s digital camera.

So! I had two inches lopped off, had my layers put back in, and added bangs. …I also had my eyebrows waxed, but that’s not so important.

When the ball dropped to signify 2010, I was in the computer room with my grandma, my aunt, and my friend Megan, drinking wine and singing Auld Lang Syne. My sister was sleeping in the next room because she had to work in the morning, but I woke her up long enough to have a sip of wine before she promptly fell back to sleep.

This year has basically been pretty awesome. I’ve realized what I want to do with my life and I know how and what I have to do to obtain it. I’ve made stronger bonds with my awesome friends and had a bunch of good experiences. When my worst memory of the year is a bad TA for a history class, I consider it a good year. :)

I hope this year will be just as good, if not better. Sure, this year had it’s ups and downs, but it wasn’t awful. I’ll miss you, 2009.

To 2010:

>=U You better be awesome! You have to live up to such awesome years as 2009, 2008, 2006, and 2003! I know you have it in you, 2010, don’t let me down. I’m counting on you.

Yours Truly,
Jessica.

And as for New Years resolutions? …I’m not going to make any this year and see how that goes.

What did you do to welcome the New Year?
Will you miss 2009?
Ready for January?

Happy Birthday Me!

Posted by Jessica on November 29, 2009 at 11:40 pm in life

Hello! Today I turned twenty-one today! Yay!

But! Before I get into how excited I am to be one year older and one year wiser, I have to tell you about yesterday!

So! Yesterday my parents decided to celebrate my birthday since I had to come back to campus today. They got my a cake, a little portable laptop (which I failed to take a picture of, but it look similar to this one), and a hundred dollars!

Here is what my cake looked like before my family dug in:

It was so delicious! Now it looks nothing like this, lol. I brought the rest of it with me back to campus so I can share it with my friends on my actual birthday. :)

We also put up the Christmas Tree and decorated the house yesterday. The tree was a bit of a problem since part of the stand was missing. We ended up having to rig it up for the moment. Look like we’ll have to get a new tree next year, but this one is fine for now.

These were the only pictures I took sadly, but you can look at the tree and see that it’s leaning a bit… and the angel on the top is bumping her head on the roof. Poor thing.

Oh yeah! And if you were curious, here is a picture of the damage done to my car:

See? The mirror was taken clean off! >=U

Anyway, today I got back to campus and decided that I really wanted to buy my first legal drink, so I went with a friend to Applebee’s. I was supposed to go out with Daniella, but she’s feeling under the weather, so we’re doing something tomorrow!

Anyway, my friend Hannah and I went to Applebee’s and I bought a Pomegranate Martini! I almost forgot to take a picture of it!

Almost gone, but I did take a picture of it! If you look closely, you can see the hundred dollar bill my dad gave me for my birthday.

It was a really good break! I was really busy due to Thanksgiving, but other than that, it was awesome! I’m so ready for Christmas break!

I also finished the book I was reading and started the next one, Narcissus in Chains

If you put up a tree, when does it go up?
How old will you be on your next birthday? Good or Bad Thing?
If you’re old enough to drink or do imbibe from time to time, what’s your favorite drink?

At Home

Hello all!

So! The subject of this message is just simplyabout being back home.

I got home at about 6 p.m. last night and pulled up to my parents house. I ended up making my parents and myself a delicious dinner of steak and potatoes. I enjoyed it, they enjoyed it, it was great.

After that, I came over to my Grandmother’s house where my Aunt, sister, and our friend Megan all live. We went out for a while and I did laundry and I more or less played videogames until I fell asleep.

Today I woke up, went to my parents house, then to the hospital. I had blood work done, x-rays, and I saw an orthopedic surgeon. Turns out that my knee is just bruised. It means that it’ll probably hurt for about a month. Load of fun, huh?

Anyway, I more or less just came back to my Grandma’s house afterward. I’m spending the day and night tomorrow at my parents’ house.

I’m just happy to be home.  I love living up on campus and feeling independent, but I really miss my family. They are really amazing even though we argue from time to time. I’m so glad that I’m having this four-day weekend with them.

It’s good to be home.

Until next time. =)
