Spring Break

Hello!

This week is my Spring Break and I’m back home. I’m over my sick and I feel a lot better. :)

It’s so refreshing to be back home, it’s been over a month since I’ve been here because of work and the like. I’ve just been so busy lately, it’s crazy.

Anyway, so today I saw Alice in Wonderland. I thought that it was interesting. :)

Oh yes! I finally realized that one of my favorite things to do is to support local artists whenever I find one that I really like and today I have found a woman by the name of Jamie Liana. She is an amazing New Aged artist centered in Nashville, TN. Clicking her names leads you to her Myspace page where you can listen to her music. She is also available on iTunes and Amazon.com.

I had another local artist that I had learned about in Knoxville, but I’m not sure how to link to them. :( It appears that they’ve either disbanded or who knows what. This is is the only let down about local artists is when they fade into oblivion and you can’t find them anymore.

Anyway, that’s all for now. :)

Music, Chia Pets, and More!

Well, since classes have begun again I have began writing again. Most for my creative writing classes, but also because I joined a fic fest that I have to write a fiction for. With luck, I can get the fic for the fest done in time to turn it in as my second story! Lol, sneaky, sneaky.

Whenever I got back from break, a friend of mine gave me one of her two chia pets that she had gotten for Christmas. It as a Sponge Bob chia!

I planted mine. He doesn’t look like the above yet, sadly. I’ll post a picture when he starts to look good.

So, I’ve been pretty obsessed with the band 3OH!3 (Click here for their band page). I’m not sure why I like them. Maybe I’m in denial about how much I actually like rap music. I guess I like rap music that isn’t all about the club, the bitches and hos, getting crunk, straight up about sex, too much language. Which cuts down my selection of what I actually really like, but there are even exceptions to the rules. Three-six Mafia usually breaks every rule, but I still listen to them. *shrug*

Last Friday, I started playing Silent Hill 2 with my friends Hannah and Alana. We’re pretty far in it. We hope to finish it this weekend and get started on Silent 4 in the beginning of February.

Is it just me, or is it strange that I’d rather watch people play video games rather than play them myself? I dunno, I just rather not play.. unless it’s a meelee game like Tekken or Soul Calibur or something.

Well, I was hanging out with Daniella today. We were talking about the different things she could make and sell at MTAC when it rolls around. I’m kinda excited. I hope I end up going. I’ve been to MTAC every year since 2004. In fact, in 2004, my art was in the handguide that every hand-goer carried with them!

That’s all for today!

What was the last video game you played?
Have you ever been to any kind of Convention?

“I Threw It On the GROUND!”

\”Andy Samberg Threw It On the Ground\”

I am utterly in love with Andy Samberg. He’s best known as a Saturday Nigh Live cast member. You might know him as that guy from the group (The Lonely Island) that sings “Jizz in My Pants” or “I’m On a Boat”. You might even know him from when he hosted the MTV Movie Awards this year.

But however you know him, I think he’s hilarious! He does a lot of funny songs for SNL and I don’t think there’s been on that I haven’t enjoyed yet. I think he’ simply great.

And now, away from what I think is hilarious. Here is my tentative  schedule for next semester for those interested!

English 254 ; I call it my ‘Twilight Class’, but it’s a literature class focused on Vampires from Dracula to Twilight. I’ve met and talked to the Professor already and she seems to be a joy and I’m excited for the choices that she’s picked. Dracula, Buffy, Sookie Stackhouse novels, Anita Blake series, etc.  And as for my stance on Twilight? …I’m not the biggest fan. I’ve read the series, but.. Twilight will be reserved for another topic.

Educational Psychology 210: My first step toward becoming a High school teacher! :)

Anthropology 110: A gen. ed. class. Human Origins. Lol, so much fun.

Math 125: A calculus class. ….Ehn, I wish I didn’t have to take the class. I hate Calculus. Alegebra and Geometry? I can do it, but not this Quantatative Reasoning shiz. Ugh, Gen Ed.

Sociology 120: General Sociology. Look interesting, but if I need to drop a class, this is the one that’s going.

And as for my Wait-listed class:

English 464: The last level of Creative Writing. I love taking these classes. It breaks me away from what I normally write.

What else is there to mention? Oh yeah! I saw Cirque du Freak. I read the book series in High school so I figured I had to see the movie when it came to the big screen!

All in all, I liked the movie. Sure, it was very different from the books, but I didn’t mind that. They did it well and there is definitely going to be a sequel to patch up the loose ends. It kinda sucks that it did so badly at the box office though. I hope the sequel is made, lol.

Well, that’s all for now! I post again soon!

At Home

Hello all!

So! The subject of this message is just simplyabout being back home.

I got home at about 6 p.m. last night and pulled up to my parents house. I ended up making my parents and myself a delicious dinner of steak and potatoes. I enjoyed it, they enjoyed it, it was great.

After that, I came over to my Grandmother’s house where my Aunt, sister, and our friend Megan all live. We went out for a while and I did laundry and I more or less played videogames until I fell asleep.

Today I woke up, went to my parents house, then to the hospital. I had blood work done, x-rays, and I saw an orthopedic surgeon. Turns out that my knee is just bruised. It means that it’ll probably hurt for about a month. Load of fun, huh?

Anyway, I more or less just came back to my Grandma’s house afterward. I’m spending the day and night tomorrow at my parents’ house.

I’m just happy to be home.  I love living up on campus and feeling independent, but I really miss my family. They are really amazing even though we argue from time to time. I’m so glad that I’m having this four-day weekend with them.

It’s good to be home.

Until next time. =)
